What can we say, there was no way The Donkey wasn’t going to write about a band called The Donkeys. Something would just not be right in this world not celebrating those who embrace the ol’ hoof and kick lifestyle.
These boys from Cali are actually worth a listen. Comprised of woozy jams perfect for relaxing with a cold beer coast side, Ride The Black Wave (Easy Sound) is the 4th studio album from the band and it’s quite possibly their best yet. Not unlike Best Coast or the Beach Boys, these folks fully embrace their geography but also infuse it often with other worldly sounds creating killer textures and not your usual West Coast sonic fare. There are a few swoony folk songs too. We dig.
